Guests report at the designated meeting point in Gangtok town or are picked up from their hotel (if pre-booked transfer is selected).
From here, you will be driven to Baliman Dara View Point, located approximately 5 km from Gangtok.
The drive itself is scenic, passing through pine forests and panoramic hill roads overlooking the valley.
Upon arrival, our ground crew assists with registration and assigns a certified tandem pilot. A short but important safety orientation is conducted explaining take-off posture, landing position, and in-flight precautions. Safety equipment including helmet and harness is fitted and checked before the activity.
You will walk with the pilot to the take-off slope where the parachute canopy is laid out and inspected.
The pilot monitors wind speed and direction carefully.
Once the air current is stable, final checks are performed and you are securely attached to the tandem harness system.
At the pilot’s signal, you take a few gentle steps forward and within seconds you are airborne.
The paraglider smoothly lifts into the open sky, leaving the hillside behind.
The initial ascent offers spectacular views of Gangtok town and the surrounding Himalayan ridges.
During the flight, you float peacefully above valleys, forests and terraced hills. The Teesta valley can be seen far below and on clear days the distant snow peaks appear on the horizon. The experience is calm and stable, allowing you to enjoy photography and panoramic sightseeing from the air. The pilot controls the direction and altitude while you simply relax and take in the breathtaking scenery.
After completing the designated flight duration, the pilot begins a slow descent towards the landing ground at Reshithang Valley. A smooth and guided landing is performed on an open grassy field. Ground staff assist you after touchdown.
After landing, you may take photographs and collect your optional GoPro video recording (if selected).
Guests can relax briefly before returning to Gangtok town. Drop back to hotel can be arranged upon request.
